About kinney block.

kinney block started as a bit of a problem—and we love a good challenge. Back in 2019, while working on a commercial design project in Venice, CA, our founder had this killer idea for an eye-catching facade. The only issue? The product we needed didn’t actually exist. Weeks of scouring the internet and calling every architectural product rep we knew in Los Angeles got us nowhere. Just when we were ready to throw in the towel, we found a local manufacturer willing to take a chance on a custom shape. A quick napkin sketch later, and bam—our first prototype was born.

Turns out, we weren’t the only ones who loved this tile design. People started asking, “Where can I get this for my own project?” So we got to work, creating smaller-scale versions that would work beautifully in both residential and commercial spaces. What started as a one-off solution quickly turned into a way to bring fresh, dimensional concrete tile forms to the market—because why should designers have to settle for what’s already out there?

Here’s the deal: we’re not here to just sell tiles. We’re here to be a resource for architects, designers, and anyone who’s ever stared at a project and thought, “If only this existed…” Whether you’re into our pre-designed collection or have a wild custom idea, we’re all in. Need something bigger and more sustainable? We’ve got you.

Now, let’s talk sustainability—because, honestly, there’s no such thing as a truly sustainable brand. Every tile we make is tied to natural resources, and we don’t take that lightly. That’s why we prioritize the environment in every decision we make. By sticking to a made-to-order model, we avoid overproduction and keep waste to a minimum. Plus, we’re constantly improving our production practices, working on certifications, and staying transparent with our customers. Oh, and did we mention? We’re rolling out a second collection that uses a nearly perfected, LEED accredited mix in early 2025.

So, if you’re into bold ideas, good design, and concrete that’s anything but boring, welcome to kinney block. Let’s make something amazing together.
